In the Spring of 2020, 1Yard’s founding members wondered how they could contribute & support their local communities during the lonely months of COVID-19 lockdowns. As high school students without much community experience, we began volunteering our time, helping local seniors and those with physical limitations with general yard work. While we recognized this work was incredibly impactful to those we were helping, we also realized that we could not keep up with the demand of our services. Over the following weeks, we began to recruit local high school volunteers to help out with our service requests.

As the weeks turned into months, and the months turned into years, our small initiative grew into what 1Yard is today.
